You Can Help!

  • Renovations - WATCH has renovated 26 units of affordable housing in Waltham. Each of these properties was a building in disrepair that WATCH purchased, renovated and in many cases resold to a first time home buyer. Together these projects have resulted in over $3.5 million in investment in Waltham's Southside neighborhoods. Click here to see the renovated buildings.
  • New Construction - In 2003 WATCH completed our first new contruction project: three 2-family homes that were just sold to 3 families who are below 80% of the area's median income. Construction financing was provided by ChartBank and subsidy funds have been provided by the City of Waltham. A condition of the sale requires each owner to live in one unit of the house for as long as they own it and to rent the second unit to a family at or below 50% of median income. Take a walk down Charles Street and check out these great new homes! Or click here!

In 2005 WATCH completed our first housing development outside of Waltham. In partnership with the Town of Belmont and working closely with the Belmont Housing Trust, WATCH built 4 condominiums on Town-owned land on B Street near Waverly Square. Three of the units are permanently affordable and have been sold to three very lucky and very happy low income families. To see pictures click here!

  • Rental Housing - WATCH owns 10 units of rental housing and is currently seeking out additional opportunities to purchase and then manage affordable rental housing in Waltham.
  • You Can Help! If you own or know of a site that might be suitable for the preservation or creation of affordable housing, let us know. WATCH can offer competitive prices and significant charitable deductions that may be beneficial to the property owner while also helping local families keep quality housing. You can also join WATCH's Planning and Development Committee, which helps WATCH find and evaluate potential projects, by contacting Steve.

WATCH is a unique developer in its consistent efforts to involve community residents in every phase of our program. We expect to keep the jobs local, to involve tenants and neighbors in planning and policy, and to involve community residents in improving their neighborhood through sweat equity.

Please call the WATCH office at 781-891-6689 to find out about available housing and program eligibility.
